Social Media Strategy

Social Media Strategy

My broad global experience makes me the perfect partner for any organization looking to make an impact and communicate through social media. From social media audits to strategy development to launching a new channel, I have done it all. My specialty lies in creating TikTok and Instagram strategies that help an organization find its voice and engage with audiences meaningfully and authentically. With social media platforms constantly evolving and innovating, I rely on best-practices and analytics to stay ahead of the curve.

Open Society Foundations

During my five and a half years at the Open Society Foundations, I developed social media strategies and content that reached a global audience of over 2.7 million people. In addition to ensuring that our content across social media was representative of the organization’s global priorities and values, my responsibilities included:

  • Platform strategy and content production for Instagram and TikTok

  • Editorial calendar management

  • Community management

  • Social media strategy and content development for Open Society leadership

  • Social listening and crisis response

  • Analytics and reporting

Open Society in Brazil

Open Society’s launched its Brazilian social media presence in 2020, with Portuguese-language Twitter and Facebook pages. As the organization’s work in Latin America expanded, the accounts became important outposts to communicate Open Society’s values and amplify the work of its partners.

Working with a local vendor to create a strategy and content specifically targeted to a new Brazilian audience, I oversaw both the launch and progressive growth of the accounts. The first Open Society Brazil Facebook Live “Papo Aberto” event on freedom of expression featuring Brazilian YouTube influencer Felipe Neto drew thousands of viewers.

Mayan Families (now Natün Guatemala)

As the Communications and Marketing Director at Mayan Families, I focused on improving editorial and design quality across all digital channels and set clear strategic objectives that would expand the organization’s audience. I increased the organization’s reach on Facebook and Twitter by over 30% and in 2017 OnGood named Mayan Families one of the “Top 25 NGOs to Follow in North America.”
